Today's illustration is Lola the Forgotten Mermaid. Long ago lola fell in love with a sailor and when he left on a voyage and was killed, she thought he had forgotten her so she has been waiting for him to remember and return. Unfortunately he never will. So alone she waits because mermaids live much longer than humans.
